My sister-in-law, who visited recently, took this in a nearby park. Pretty nice, huh?
Thanks, N, for your contribution to SkyWatch. Your pic is bee-u-tee-ful!

The first three photos were taken along I-81 North in Virginia. Although the route is run amuck with tractor trailers, there’s lots of peaceful countryside to be seen. And such is the case when exiting onto I-66 East…for a while. The closer you get to DC the more traffic you see, and that oncoming lane is sometimes bumper-to-bumper come rush hour.

I would’ve never thought of doing this if not for friend Koe, who for a while, was taking these kinds of photos. He threw anything and everything into the air and captured them quite nicely, too. It’s not as easy as it looks. It took many shots, one of which was the ball hitting me in the face, to get a decent one. Oh, and there were nice clouds in the sky, too.

In keeping with my birthday post for W last year, I’ve borrowed another one of his photos that without my meddling, would never be seen…which is just fine with him. Yes, I’m quite the buttinski.
Taken while standing on the shore of Manhattan in his hometown of New York City, he’s captured both the Manhattan and Brooklyn suspension bridges spanning the East River and landing in Brooklyn. If you’ve ever wondered which was which, the Manhattan bridge, on the left, is steel, while the Brooklyn bridge is steel and stone. W mentioned that when he walks the Manhattan bridge, he is one of a few, but when he walks the Brooklyn bridge, he is one of hundreds.
Nice shot, W, and happy birthday!
Love, Holly & Lu

The Newington exit off of I-95 near Springfield, Virginia. This route means just one thing—a trip to Costco. While W accompanies Lucy on her hunt for rabbits and deer, I’ll do the shopping and hit all of the sample booths…at least once. :o)

This is Union Station in case you need to catch a train or even a bus out of DC. Yeah, there are buses in there! And plenty o’ American flags…just in case you forget what country you’re in. Not that anything would make me question what country I’m in…GOVERNOR BREWER.
