Oh my.
Following yesterday’s rainy walk, we were caught without a towel so had to resort to dad’s abandoned sweatshirt in the back of the truck. I took over 30 photos of Lucy in this getup, ’cause she usually doesn’t stand for this kinda stuff…doesn’t like anything over her head and tends to shake it off. She was unusually calm, though, so I took advantage and snapped away.
Don’t be surprised if you see a few more fruit-of-the-Lucy photos in the near future.

Lucy with Rain, one of her oldest friends from the Mason District dog park. Even with that thick, black coat, Rain can out-play Lucy in the hottest temperatures. Don’t be fooled by her panting and horizontal position…90% of the time Rain is on the move while Lucy stands just like this. Lazy girl.

This was taken at Ben Brenman Park in Alexandria, Virginia.
Growing up, I remember the property on which the park sits as Cameron Station, the army base—it is now Cameron Station, a planned community. Designed as a tribute to the styles of 18th and 19th century American architecture, it is reminiscent of Old Town Alexandria, located just a few miles east.
The larger park includes one of Lucy‘s favorite dog parks and is the setting for some of my other “skies.”
