Yeah! Albeit a slow death, the highly discriminatory “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy officially drew its last breath at midnight. Hallelujah.
How awful and wrong was it for our country to require some of its citizens to keep part of their selves under wraps as they laid their lives on the line for the rest of us? And how misguided that policy was…it quashed the rights of innocent service people in order to mollify the fearful and misinformed.
Pictured is Lt. Dan Choi who, unfortunately, was discharged from military service during his fight to end DADT.
Mission accomplished, Lt. Choi.

Of all the prejudices that I don’t understand this one has always mystified me!

I know what you mean, Grace. Too many folks worrying about someone else’s business instead of their own. If only these people would put their sons or daughters or selves in others’ shoes…how would they feel then?
Yup, it’s about time, though apparently the military’s making it a pain in the butt for Choi and others like him to re-enlist…

Oh my…I feel as if I’ve pulled a Bush-style “mission accomplished” here. One of the reasons Choi fought DADT was so he could return to the military, and that has yet to happen…here’s hoping that his upcoming appointment with a recruiter goes smoothly. And of course, the same is wished for thousands of others who wish to return.

Lately, I’ve heard a lot about the military is increasingly acting. It seems nearly all parts of the world prepare and strengthen their military.
