Oh my. Lucy is afeared that all future photo ops will be from the confines of this here box. Relax, Lucy, it isn’t meant for you. Geesh, what a panicked puppy you are!

Lucy is highly peeved that a napkin ring has taken precedence over a photo of herself. Sorry, Lucy, but this is one of my first experiments using the recently built light box, which I mentioned here. I shot this in macro mode and then used the auto adjust, as well as extra brightness, through Windows’ Live Photo Gallery. I wasn’t sure how much brightness to cast…don’t want it shadowy nor washed-out. I’m going to move the lights (four, 100-watt bulbs) further inside the box (as the instructions suggest) and see how that looks. Maybe that will take care of the shadows in the corners. This Pembroke bone china napkin ring, made by Aynsley, is one of a set of four and was given to me by a good friend many years ago. Despite that, it may end up on the chopping block as I lighten the load around here by stocking my not-yet-functioning Etsy shop. If you’re in the market for ‘em, check back.

Most of you know Lucy, but you may not know her beginnings. Unlike a lot of adopted doggies, Lucy never knew anything other than a warm and loving home. She came into the world under the care of her mom’s foster people, and they made sure that Lucy–then named “Cookie”–had everything that she needed. There’s Lucy, about one week old, atop her mom, Miko. We were told that she was the bossiest of the bunch, which doesn’t surprise us a bit. We still can’t believe that she was the last of her siblings to be adopted as she was the furriest and the sweetest…slept with her nose pointed downward on the floor. Her siblings, as it turned out, are all short-haired and look nothing like her. We are so lucky to have her.
