There comes a time during Lucy’s walk when she just has to have a stick. First, there’s the walk to the tennis courts and some play with the ball. When she’s had enough, she heads for the court’s exit so she can run for the ball in the open field. Next, she makes a beeline for the soccer field where she chases the ball…again. And finally, on the return trip to the truck, she excitedly hunts for a stick, any old stick, and then goads us into a tug o’ war. But Lucy does not live by tennis balls and sticks alone…there’s a lot of rabbit and deer hunting in between. Just don’t mess with that girl’s routine.

Ain’t nothin’ more fun than a stick…

Drjay, have you been to BlogCatalog lately? I can’t make head nor tales of the new platform…I’m totally lost. Maybe that’s a good thing. Dunno. :o/
I don’t blame Lucy one bit, I hate it when someone messes with my routine too.

Hee. I feel bad for her when our surroundings are stickless…she feverishly looks all around her, but then gives up.

I love that our pets have routines. My cat Shadow has to always stop at the top of the stairs to chew a bit on the plastic wrap of toilet paper that we’re always too lazy to put away Only after will she descend the stairs.. And now that she has to stop there and chew, we’re reluctant to mess with her routine. So we’ll be slobs forever.

Ha! That’s funny, Kathy, but how thoughtful of you to allow her to continue her routine. Being a slob at heart, It would be no surprise to find toilet paper or worse sitting around our place…as long as it’s non-toxic, it’s all good!
Ellie’s current fave’s to carry around are here zombie turtle (she chewed the thread irises off) and her stuffed hedghhog…she preens it like a puppy!!!

My husband is like that – not so much chasing a ball or carrying a stick, but having a routine and lord helps us all if that routine gets interrupted – Grumpy, grumpy!
