…not to be confused with that Old Town Alexandria bar that used to sell beer in Mason jars and had buckets of peanuts on the tables for snacking and…ahem…”tossing” to friends at the next table.
I trespassed just a little to take this photo, but I don’t think the owner would’ve minded if he had caught me in the act, although he probably would have thought, eh? Having cleared out a shelf-full of old Mason jars at my mom’s just the day before, I must’ve had them on the brain. While her jars were dusty with cobwebs and were boxed up, as were, for the trip down the road to a friend who still cans, these looked to be for something toxic—gasoline or motor oil?— and sat quietly on a railroad tie amidst morning fog. Not a surprising find, though. On a walk past here on a previous visit, I noticed a nice looking pair of boots lying in almost the same spot, and on my next visit a few months later, they were still there. Hmmm.
Oh, and happy December.

So this railroad tie is a local recycling spot. Nice photo.. Or maybe these are secret messages of some sort.Hmmm
Grace´s last blog post ..I think its great
“…local recycling spot.” Ha! Speaking of recycling, I’ve hoped for a long time that some sort of recycling program would be incorporated here, but house are few and far between, so… . Secret messages…such as? :o)

charlane´s last blog post ..comfort 30-30
I do, too, charlane. My mom, sister and I have some of the old blue Ball jars that belonged to my grandmother…some with ceramic-lined aluminum lids and some out of glass. I should clean them up and post some time.
Gee I hope someone wasn’t drinking what was in those jars and that’s what made them forget about the boots :) Cool photo, I like it
