Another scene from our friend’s house, the place of telescopes and rusty mattresses and gosh knows what else. This old push broom looks kinda lonely here, but was actually standing with a more clean and colorful indoor sort. I thought it detracted from the otherwise rustic look, so I excluded it. And it kinda added some happy, which I didn’t want…here.

Playing with Photoshop, are we? It’s a nice bit of work here…
Grace´s last blog post ..Do what you love- they say
Thanks, Grace. Actually, I use Windows Live Gallery and Irfan that are limited compared to Photoshop, but do allow adjustment of color, sharpness and contrast. And this doesn’t look as different from the original as you might think…a little brighter, maybe, but this scene is really as bleak and dark as it looks here. Yikes.
I totally love this shot. You found a gold mine of photographic subjects at your friends house
ann´s last blog post ..Sew what
Thanks, ann. It’s too bad, though, that I didn’t have the eye to capture some of those subjects. There was an old metal outdoor chair that I really liked, but just couldn’t get a good shot. (I’m gonna blame it on the lighting, though!) :o)
It took me a minute to “get” what I was looking at. Kind of neat effect!
Lana´s last blog post ..Foggy Morning- Award- Interview
Ha! Thanks, Lana. This is an outside basement wall, which underneath a deck. And it’s really painted this awful dark color.
Holly – that is really great. I love the texture of the wall and the placement of the broom off to the side like that. . . super. The title is brilliant too.
-me´s last blog post ..barns
Thanks, *me*. I’m glad you like it. I think I liked the sparseness…and the drab colors…and the spent broom. And I’m wondering if I should’ve waited and posted this for Halloween…
I love this picture, Holly!

Thanks, Bossy Betty! Glad you like it. :o)
This is so beautiful, really sombre. I love bleak images. The composition and the texture of the wall and broom are wonderful.
