I had to get down and dirty for this one. I was riding on the W&OD trail and brought the camera along, ’cause just a few days before I noticed a beautiful line of golden maple trees along a section of the path. Problem was, it rained the following day and knocked many of the leaves from their limbs. So, on the ground I went, and this is what I found…an expanse of leaves sunning themselves in the late afternoon sun.

Just Lucy, hanging out at one of her favorite lookouts. Please pay no mind to the signs of our deteriorating digs. Blech.
By the way, this was taken with our new camera…well, new to us. My sister-in-law upgraded and very kindly passed her old one—which really wasn’t that old at all—on to us. So nice of her, huh? It happens to be a newer model of our old camera—which really was that old—so, thanks so much, N. We are thoroughly enjoying it. Lucy, not so much, but that’s understandable, as it’s always “chasing” her. :o)

Another scene from our friend’s house, the place of telescopes and rusty mattresses and gosh knows what else. This old push broom looks kinda lonely here, but was actually standing with a more clean and colorful indoor sort. I thought it detracted from the otherwise rustic look, so I excluded it. And it kinda added some happy, which I didn’t want…here.
