At Lucy’s slurp-a-thon the other day, she went for a second drink and was noticeably distracted. Turns out that big Oliver and little Brady (whom she’d never met before) were waiting in the wings, just as interested in her as she seemed to be in them. As is her usual when meeting others, she laid in wait and played hard to get. Other dog owners assume from this behavior that Lucy might be shy, even afraid, but little do they know. Lucy likes to draw her victims in close to her before she breaks into puppy behavior…arms splayed out in front of her, hindquarters in the air and a shrill bark. On this day, though, it was too hot for shenanigans and the highly hot-and-bothered Lucy just got up and walked away. Sorry, Oliver and Brady…maybe next time when the princess is not so fur-klempt. Oy.

I don’t blame Lucy one bit. it’s hard to be sociable when you’re hot and sticky

Haaa! I don’t blame her, either, ann. Actually, Lucy is a lot more sociable than we are, though she does show some antisocial tendencies, which she most certainly picked up from us. :o|
Love it–quite possibly my favorite Lucy picture ever!

Lucy and I thank ya, drjay. The more I look at her face here, the cuter she gets (if I do say so myself!). By the way, on my FB page, take a look at my video tab, if you haven’t already seen it…there’s a video of Lucy singing that you might like. AHHHOOOOOO!
