It’s big, it’s purple, it’s fancy, and I’m pretty certain it’s clematis. Found not far from this pink clematis blossom in Green Spring Gardens, they could very well be related. They live just across the garden from each other.
It is still very hot here and may be in the 100′s tomorrow, which may curb the urge to bike. We did a 12-mile utilitarian ride yesterday evening to pick up some fresh green beans from a family friend’s garden, and it wasn’t too bad. But today…holy cow. We almost expired. I’m ready to join those kids in the water parks.

What a pretty flower. We’ve got hot sticky weather here too. I had the day off and spent the day cleaning, I thought I was going to melt before I was finished.
