Here, a worker does some downspout repairs on the wall of the mural known as the Vienna Mural Project. The designer, Harris Miller, incorporated two of the four downspouts into the scene, which is representative of Vienna life. While one downspout serves as a launching pad for a bluebird, the other helps make up part of the train’s engine.
The W&OD trail is just steps away and is one of our favorite starting points for rides to Herndon, Reston and beyond.

That’s one thing Fiflthadelphia has – great gooey gobs of murals – they run mural tours.

“Great gooey gobs…” Ha! I believe I’ve seen some of those murals on another blog…beautiful! Mural tours? That’s cool.
I love the mural. It’s so colorful.

Thanks, Janie. I must admit, though, I did “brighten up” the pic some, so… Still, it is very nice!
What an awesome mural and such creative use of the downspouts.

And I paid no attention to the downspouts until I read about them. ‘Tis creative, though.
Very cool. :)

Thanks, Lana. :o)
A labor of love. Well-done. Some high school students here just painted a bunch of murals downtown, and it really adds to the pleasure of walking around.

I love them. They give a whole different feel to a place, and tell a story, too.

Really imaginatively done! And that is one huge mural – wonder how long it took to paint?

Hi Bird. I’m not sure how long that took, but I’m guessing a while. It shows much of what the town is about…the old train station, cyclists, the W&OD, dog walks… :o)
Nice mural, particularly the way it includes the downspouts…

Yeah, I liked this, too, though it hardly compares to all those you posted a while back. They were very cool. Though I don’t remember such a slick incorporation of downspouts in those… Okay, I’m just bein’ a wisenheimer now. :o)
