Here’s an up close look at a marsh orchid bloom, which I posted a while ago with all its buddies. Bumblebees seem to love it, and while one was circling the fronds here, Lucy was waiting, the skies were ready to open up and blah, blah, blah. So, no bee pic…maybe next time…skill and circumstances allowing. *grin*

Truly exquisite!

I wonder why they call them that?

I don’t know, Grace…they do grow at the water’s edge, so I get the marsh part, but they don’t really look like orchids, do they? Hmmm…
Very pretty…

Thanks, drjay…just another bloom in the ‘hood.
Very pretty orchid. Too bad no bee they are difficult ones to capture, I’ve tried and don’t get too lucky.

Thanks, ann. I seem to have better luck with the older, slower bees…the young ‘uns, not so much.

Thanks, Bird. I agree about the color…I love that shade of blue. The full blooms are even more beautiful against their green spikey leaves.
