Thanks, Emm, though I’m not sure if you’d consider this a proper beach if you saw it. It’s the shore of our Potomac River, which is notoriously dirty, though I think it has improved in recent years.
Drjay, you’d rather be on the shores of the Potomac? Holy cow…things that bad in Philly? I think my post title gave a more idyllic impression of the place than actually was. Though quiet and peaceful, it was the Potomac shore after all. But Lucy loved it, and that’s what’s important…I specifically remember the grody tennis ball she has hold of here.
Oh my gosh, NP. I am so jealous. Believe me, your excursion puts Lucy’s to shame (as it’s on the Potomac River shore). I’ve only been to CA once…five years ago…and I love it. It must’ve been hard to come back…or maybe not, as I don’t know where you came back to…hmmm.
That is a great photo – near, middle and far distance; left, right, left focal points . Ya know all the years I lived in Alexandria don’t think I ever visited Jones Point – and yet I lived so very close. Grace´s last blog post ..Sunday Serenade
Thanks, Grace, and glad you like it. Me either. I only made it there in the last few years and only because of Lucy. This small area of shore is popular for letting dogs play and there’s a huge grassy area, well away from roads. By the way, where did you live in Alexandria?
Oh, he would love it, ann. Like I told Grace, it’s very popular with the doggies. And the Potomac usually smells kinda fishy, so that’s a plus for ‘em! I know, ewwwww.

Looks very peaceful. You’ve got a poem or story there on Lucy the beachcomber :)

This is a very peaceful place, Joanne, though it is on the Potomac. That’s a ratty, muddy old tennis ball that she’s found there.

Aaaah, it looks lovely! I can’t remember the last time I walked down a proper beach.

Just returned from a week of beachcombing in Calif. There’s nothing I enjoy more.

Well that looks like the perfect way to spend the day. Duke would love it.
