Outside of the calm beauty of this shot, the neatness of the dock really strikes me, with all of the supports nicely capped, just waiting for summer and boats and people. The dock down at Hollywood Beach would get so pummeled by winter that it would look a mess by April. Jennifer´s last blog post ..A facsimile of truth
Sadly, the nine-year-old dock was only “preserved” its first year…a fit of responsibility on our part. Some of the planks have since curled and we noticed this weekend that one of the caps has cracked and needs replacing. And I’m afraid the only people it sees is a neighbor who we’ve okayed to fish off the dock. So this dock and the Hollywood Beach dock are probably not so different. Thank you, though, for giving it some life for a moment there… :o)
It is, ann…and it’s a shame that most thoughts while sitting there are “gotta get the roadside mowed” or “gotta clip the briars back,” etc., etc. I’m starting to think that I don’t know how to “live”… :o(
Standin’ on the dock of the baaaay, watching the (lack of) clouds…another whistle solo…very peaceful shot… YogaforCynics´s last blog post ..Who the Hell You Callin’ Spiritual?!
Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about, drjay…sad, sad and more sad…how I sometimes feel when I’m out here, despite the peaceful surroundings. And yes, another awesome whistle solo. Sing it, Otis!

It looks like the perfect spot to sit in quiet contemplation.

It is, Lana, and when the tide’s just high enough, your toes can reach the water. Haven’t done that in awhile, though.
