Here are cherry blossoms as they appear on my windowsill. This weekend we took visiting family into the District to see the blossoms and when we returned, a family member who will remain nameless, offered me a small branch broken off one of the trees—an act unknown to many out-of-towners, as well as locals, as illegal. So, as not to let the act of kindness pass in vain, I plunked it into a shot glass of water. Now all of the buds are open and beautiful, albeit illegally on the premises. Thank you unnamed family member!

This is Lucy’s new friend, a super loud squeaky mousy. She carries it everywhere and when she finally does part with it, she checks every now and then, just to make sure it hasn’t left our zip code. When she wakes and frantically searches for it, we only need to show her its whereabouts to put her back to peaceful sleep. Crazy dog.

Things are a little crazy around here ’cause we have house guests for a few days, however, you may not notice a thing since posting has been missing beats anyway…due to a myriad of things…real and imagined. It’s quiet for now, though, as Dad-in-law is watching CNBC, Mom-in-law is working on her beading and Lucy has finally given her new squeak toy (a gift from the niece and nephew) a break and is sleeping. The others are taking on the DC museums for the day. So, I shall return, albeit slowly…

Nicer weather means more of Lucy’s friends are showing up at the dog park, and one of her favorites is Chiarri. It was slow going getting Lucy to play with her, but once she did…holy cow. The two of them became so rowdy, I didn’t think to hit video, hence only a still photo, which kinda captures the mood. (This time the water spill wasn’t Lucy’s fault…only because Chiarri got to it first.)
