Hee…hi Koe. Well, I gave her a framed photo of herself with two of her daughters and her two grandchildren that I had taken a few years ago, and I gave her a mace cake, which I give her every year. What’s a mace cake, you ask? It’s just a yellow cake of any kind with the spice, mace, added. When my aunt was young, she didn’t like cake frosting like my dad and uncle, so my grandmother would make her the mace cake. Once I heard that, I started making it for her. She is my dad’s older sister…you may remember her from the video I made.

As Lt. Kaffee (Tom Cruise…I know, ugh kinda, though personally I think this was one of his best characters) in A Few Good Men said, “And the hits just keep on coming.”…or birthdays, in this case. Hence, the self-indulgent birthday banner this month. Need I emphasize self-indulgent since this is a blog? Hmmm…
My auntie would be happy to hear that she’s wearing a yoga/massage/pina colada/on the beach smile, though she’d lose it real quick if she were to know I’d posted her pic here…then again, she does know me to some extent, so maybe not. Especially not, if she knew she was described as “adorable.” :o) She’s my dad’s older sister, pretty much the matriarch of the family since my grandmother died.
