Almost like a Silent Sunday, though it’s not Sunday, and I’m not silent. Silent Saturday? Too late, I’ve already yakked on for too long. Lucy suggests I get on with it and post already. She’s waiting for her walk…possibly here.

awesome shot, and it has a bit of a spooky feel to it.

Wow, great shadowy shot…I need to figure out how…or if…I can take black and white shots with my digital camera…

Great shot! I love the use of b/w. Very lovely.

Hi ann and thank you. Yeah, those looming trees do cast spooky shadows. A lot more brooding than when it was in color.

Thanks, drjay. Actually, all my pics are in color, and I change them to b&w in a photo editor. I usually use either Windows photo gallery or Irfan. If there isn’t a b&w setting, I adjust the saturation, contrast and other settings until I get the effect I want. Kinda fun as you can come up with some pretty wacky effects.

Hi Lana and thanks a lot. I love b&w too. I think I could do strictly b&w and I wouldn’t even miss color…nahhh. :o)
I do like b&w photos, particularly portraits. Well done

ann was right. It sure feel kinda spooky. Beautifully dreadful (well, maybe ‘dread’ was too much). Like it. But, when I need ‘an escape’ I prefer your Forest Spotlight. Keep it coming.

Thanks so much, Grace. Some pics especially lend themselves to b&w, I think. Not to say that this is one of them… :o)

Hi Games Valley and thanks for stopping to comment. Glad you like Forest Spotlight, and I think that that also might look okay in b&w. But the summer green was so pretty.

Nice photo, Holly,
It looks a little surreal and the fact that it is black and white makes it look even better.
Cheers

Thank you, PM. I thought it looked better in b&w, too. Must be all those bare trees and the dirt path. Hope you’re staying warm and don’t have too much snow to deal with.
