In light of the recent boohooing posted here concerning one self-seeking human’s personal saga, Lucy has had it up to her ear flaps and chosen to take another path…that of doggie enlightenment…which, in my personal opinion, is downright redundant.
As Lin from Duck and Wheel with String said in a recent comment, “Personally, I think the dog has got it going on.” And for that, Lin, so have you. Actually, thank you to all of you astute ones who venture here. *big smile* Lucy assures you that things will lighten up soon, else she’s takin’ the wheel…which may not be a bad idea. *big bark*

agreed – dogs are the most zen of all.
kindest regards to you this lovely, sunny day as the temperature begins a dip into the wintry zone.

My dog has it going, I guess. I mean, she’s in charge. Makes me jump to her commands.
Yep, it’s a dog’s life.
I like your blog.
Thanks,
Greg

Playing on my ipod deck right now: the Byrds singing “Take a Whiff on Me” (originally by Leadbelly, I think) (yeah, you know a music nerd like me had to point that out)…which seems appropriate, as Lucy here seems to be taking a big slow whiff of life, and finding it fully satisfying…
…(though, of course, the appropriateness is kinda lost if we listen to the rest of the lyrics of that song, which involve a different, and much less healthy, kind of satisfaction)…

Thank God for dogs. Love that picture of Lucy she looks like she’s meditating and enjoying every single second of it.

She looks like she’s just been doing some Om chanting. Gotta love that in a dog :)

Hi Diane, and thank you so much. We’ve been in a super wintry zone for a few days now and may see some snow tonight…just enough to be annoying, I think.

Hi GregoryJ. Yeah, it definitely sounds like your pooch, like Lucy, calls the shots, but we wouldn’t have it any other way, right? I’m glad you like it here. Lucy and I thank you for your visits!

I listened to the song, drjay (the Leadbelly version) and looked up the lyrics—I hadn’t heard it before. You’re right. They were a little seasoned for my baby girl…hee-hee. Though she sure does look like she’s taking in a big whiff of life. Good girl.

Hi ann. I can’t imagine life without them. They’re just too precious. I just know that Lucy’s thinking good thoughts here…I don’t think she knows any other.
*
Hi Svasti. That’s funny ’cause I put this on Facebook today and captioned it, “Ommm…” :o)

Hi Janie and thanks. She needed some meditatin’ after her all-morning photo shoot!
Ohmmmmm!! So cute. I love your pictures.
Hi SomethingJust and thank you so much. Thanks for stopping by to comment. :o)

Lucy looks like she’s got all the secrets. She’s not trying to hide them or anything; we need to get a little more enlightened to get the full benefits ;)
On a doggy note, there was a really fascinating TV programme on BBC2 a couple of nights ago, made me think of you and Lucy actually. It’s about how scientists had never really taken a proper look at what makes dogs tick until recently, but now they are looking, the things they are finding just confirm a lot of what dog people knew all along. There are some really clever, fun dogs featured and lots of interesting insights into stuff you always knew at gut level. If you are interested, here is the link:-

(it opens with a dog who is wearing a weird looking thing on it’s head – but don’t get freaked out like I did, it’s not a vivisection show)

That’s a great photo – I have to admit I like animals better than people but cats better than dogs…tho we have one cat that is bigger than a lot of dogs and he acts like a dog, which is what I always tell him “You’re such a good doggie”

So zenny! I’ve never had a dog. But can cats “have it going on?” I don’t know that I’ve seen my cats look so contemplative. Maybe only at that last moment before they shut their eyes for their 17th nap of the day?

Hi, Bird, and thank you for the video. I wasn’t able to access it since I’m not in the UK, but we found it on Youtube—the whole six-part series—and it’s pretty amazing! Thank you! This reminds me of a dog who arranges his toys in geometric patterns. I saw it on the National Geographic channel and never forgot it—just too cool. I found the video and here’s a link. http://dobermansden.com/donnie-the-doberman-arranges-toys/ Yes, Lucy definitely knows where it’s at!

Hee-hee…”You’re such a good doggie”…that’s funny, Grace. I do much better with animals, too. In the non-words of Will Rogers, “I never met an animal I didn’t like.” :o)

Hi, Kathy, and yes, I believe all four-legged ones have it going on. And actually, Lucy could’ve been gearing up for a nap here. Or just plain sick of me pointing the camera at her!
