In the mucky water of the pond at Green Spring Gardens are all of these beautiful water lilies. I believe they’re fragrant, but I’m a little hesitant to take the plunge to verify, if ya know what I mean. This may call for the abilities of a 50-pound Border Collie mix, although said dog would argue that she is “…no retriever, man!” Argh…kids.

I love water lily. They are beautiful & smell so good. I use water lily essential oils in a lot of the perfumes I make.

Nymphea odorata…I think that’s literally translated as “stinky nymph”…nonetheless, perhaps your most gorgeous flower photo yet. Actually been thinking about flowers today…reading Michael Pollan’s “Botany of Desire” which is kinda about plants from their own point of view…or something…I’m on the marijuana chapter at the moment…
