Since it’s now feeling a little more like summer in D.C.—humid, humid, and did I mention humid?—I’ve decided to go way back to early March when it was lifeless and bleak, but more to my liking temperature-wise. So, if you’d like a break from your heat, stick around…
…and if not, go to SkyWatch Friday and find skies you’re sure to like from all over the world. While you’re there, why not leave a link to your own skies so all can enjoy?

I love this shot. It’s bare, cold and dark but beautiful in it’s own way.

It certainly is bare, stark and beautiful. And here in the UK we don’t have your problems with heat so I’m anxious to hold on to summer! But this photo reminds us that there is beauty in every season, doesn’t it!

We usually have rather humid summers too, but not this year. :)
Beautiful shot, really nice in black and white.

Kinda looks a bit like Melbourne (where I live) in Australia at the moment (middle of winter) and all. But beautiful nonetheless!

Amazing pic.
It’s humid here in Philly, too, though we just had a major lightning storm (which I, biking home from yoga class, waited out under a railroad bridge) which kinda cleared it out, for a minute or two, at least.
Humid in that city-built-on-a-swamp called D.C., however, is like humid squared….

Thanks so much to all of you for stopping by and leaving such nice comments—all of you SkyWatchers are too kind. And glad my pic cooled off those of you who needed it! See you next Friday…
@Eric (SWF Holland): Thanks for the suggestion…I upped the contrast a little bit. I’m never quite sure what’s too little/too much contrast, saturation, etc. Need to do some reading on that!
@Photo Cache: Hi there! Sorry, no, I’m not the one hosting Scenic Sunday. I do Silent Sunday, though it’s not a meme. If I run across it, I’ll let you know. :o)
@drjay: Not one single lousy storm yet to cool things off. Actually, the temperature doesn’t feel that hot, right? But the outdoors is like a big ‘ole steam bath…ugh.
Looks like an approaching storm. The bare tree makes it a little eerie.

The B&W really defines the clouds. Beautiful shot.
I agree with whomever said it is a bit spooky! And with whomever said it should be on a paperback cover! But I love the clouds!!
