This first photo epitomizes the relationship between Lucy and Lucy-guy (name explained here), parent to Lucy’s friend, Lucy. As her favorite human who frequents the dog park, he is the first one she runs to when we enter, and she regularly visits him between play sessions. Just the sight of him turns her from our girl into a shameless little hussy. And of course, when he yells “Lucy!” he gets double trouble.

Awww, cuteness! I’m always struck by what a good life Lucy has :D

Hi Bird,
You know, we always tell her what a good life she has…that a lot of pups have no one at all, no home to turn upside down, no yard to roam, no endless supply of food, and that she has a better life than a lot of children. So sad, but true…
Hehehe! Hussy indeed! Look at her showing him her haunches. Wench of a dog!! ;)
Its great though isn’t it, that she’s unafraid of other people? My cat is so terribly shy of other humans that I never have to worry about her being stolen. Unlike a couple of other cats I’ve met near my home, who, when they see me coming (and I’m sure others), run towards me for a pat. Oh boy. So fickle, huh?

I can pick up on your appreciation when observing such experience. :)
Well, that’s one thing about dogs: they’ll love you to distraction, but generally won’t love you exclusively….

Hi Svasti,
Yes, it is a good thing that she loves people, except that she would go with anyone…but then, she’s usually never out-of-sight, so it’s okay. That’s not so bad about your kitty as you are probably her one love. *See drjay’s comment!* Though, it might cause her stress when others come around. Hope not…
Yeah, look at her butt up in the air like that…my goodness…

Hi Ana,
Thank you and thanks for coming by. Yes, she is a lot of fun to watch…just so happy all of the time!

Hi, drjay,
You know, I know that’s a good thing because I’d rather she were well-adjusted and comfortable with others rather than frightful, but, still… I guess we all want to the “the one” no matter what the situation. I wonder if Lucy feels the same?

[...] Two years later, and Lucy’s still in love with this guy, her favorite person in the whole dog-park world. She weasels her way in when he’s surrounded by others, and he always calls for her when she enters the park. They’re made for each other. She just might be his number two dog-park squeeze. Of course, number one is his own sweetie, the one we call The Good Lucy. Tags: dogs, Lucy, Mason District Park, photography | Category: Lucy and Friends | Leave a comment [...]
