The past few days have been so humid that poor Lucy has slowed considerably. She really dislikes heat and humidity and here, she took off after a ball, but reconsidered and headed for the shade. She’s a whole lot smart.
And I guess it’s no fun hangin’ out with us, so Lucy sticks close to the park flies and some new friends.
Of course she’s always in the middle of it all…and close to the water bowls.

With a shaggy coat like Lucy’s I’d be staying in the shade, too. Wait, I try to stay out of humidity any way. Smart girl that she is, Lucy knows the best thing to do is drink LOTS of water when its hot and humid!

Yes, dogs are good socializers and Lucy is quite the social butterfly. She loves to go to her favorite person at the park (neither of us, mind you) and cuddle and lick his face, seemingly trying to make his own dog (also a Lucy) jealous. She really knows how to work it!

Yes, those two large hounds are brothers and all were very friendly. The weather was just so miserable that they all hung out in the shade and slurped water. Not a bad life…
What a great looking bunch of dogs. My old dog is too cranky to be social these days. And the young one is too fearful. I really miss going to the dog park.

Yeah, we can’t always count on Lucy to play like she did when she was a puppy. A lot of times she does a quick run with the other dogs just to get it out of her system, then she totally ignores them and only wants to play with the tennis ball…lazy girl!

Amazingly, the tiny dogs do fine amongst the giants. It’s rare that there’s an aggressive dog in here and the owners watch their dogs closely. Still, I’ve seen a larger dog fall on a smaller one, with no damage done, luckily!
As far as dogs goes, those are remarkable.
