Some extraordinary videos of Lucy at the dog park, in the sense that she hasn’t played like this, in one session, in a long time. We have to thank Tracy, her new friend, for that, as Tracy was very persistent and didn’t give Lucy a moment’s rest. Note Lucy’s run for the water puddle…if it were a hot summer day, she would’ve landed in someone’s water bowl, a habit she’s carried with her since puppydom.
Tracy is the vocal one…
And the play ends with a round of Protect the Hole. All dogs seem to know this game, and Lucy knows it well as she’s played it with others since she was a puppy. The game’s no good unless it ends with eating the contents of said hole. Again, Tracy is the vocal one…

Hi Holly,
That’s really funny. Bet you had a great time cleaning up Lucy after the trip. Sometimes I wish I had a dog – cats don’t do stuff like that.
:-)
Cheers

Hi PM and thanks.
Oh yeah, big fun cleanin’ her up. The thing is, when we entered the park and she went toward that puddle, we yelled at her and she went on her merry way. But she’s smart…she knows it’s there and every time she gets wound up like that she takes off for that corner. She knows she’ll find either a puddle or water bowl.
It is too bad that cats don’t do things like that, but they’re known for not liking water, right? Or is that an old wives’ tale? Still, kitties are so cute… :o)

Hi Joanne and thanks. I’m glad you liked her antics. It was an unusually active day for her—she barely moves in hot weather, but yesterday was very cool.
Gorgeous! I love the circular jumps they each did around themselves and the chest bumps. I hope Lucy didn’t get dirty water all over you guys with one of those lovely doggie all-over-body shakes? Looks like good fun was had by both doggies!

Lucy is an excellent hole guard! It was funny right at the end when they both suddenly realised that they were more interested in the dirt itself and started pawing and eating it… I’ll bet cleaning them up afterwards was lots of fun :D

Holly – the videos were fun. I watched all three at one time. . . which is a real trip. . .

OMG, this is one of the most hysterical things I’ve seen in ages. I watched all three videos and am sitting here with this HUGE grin on my face. I felt happy just watching them. They are a riot. I LOVE Lucy’s voice and the way she ‘talks’. So expressive. This is a truly creative post!!!! Another aspect of it that I simply ADORE is hearing you laugh over and over. I was laughing just because YOU were laughing and you have such a melodious laugh. I love it.
Oh this is just great and precisous and heartwarmning.
Thank you for taking the time to film it and post it.
Delightful.
Hugs,
Robin

Hi and thanks, Svasti.
I, too, like all of those wacky moves…very entertaining and good for their souls and ours. Dogs really do make you forget what’s eatin’ at ya.
We had just given her a bath last week…argh…

Hi Bird.
It’s even funnier when more dogs get involved…all trying to take possession of the hole and have a moment to investigate, but the other dogs won’t have it. There’s nothing visible in that dirt, but it must be something good as most of them end up eating it.
Oh, and cleanup was the highlight of our evening! :o(

Hi and thanks, Koe.
Glad you enjoyed them, and that was pretty smart playing all at once. The videos were a little lengthier than I liked, but they wouldn’t stop playing!
Of course, I had to play all three at once…complete chaos! :o)

Hey there Robin.
I’m glad you liked them. They are so much fun to watch and we especially enjoyed seeing Lucy so active. She slows down a little in warmer weather and hasn’t played like this in ages. The conditions were just right and she had a perfect playmate.
You know, I try to remember not to yak too much when recording, but I always forget. And I can’t help the laughing…I laugh all the time, funny or not. heh-heh…see? :o)
Lovely Videos..
I do miss my little lost puppy when i see this things :(
And Lucy’s looks like my BIG (dead) puppy :)

Hi Doson.
So you never found your puppy? I’m so sorry about that. I think not knowing the fate of a lost pet is sometimes worse than their passing. Not knowing can be unbearable.
