Taken a few days ago on a country road in eastern Kentucky.
Don’t care for rainy skies? Then go to SkyWatch Friday and find skies from all over the world. While you’re there, why not leave a link to your own skies so all can enjoy?
Thanks to Lana over at The Dreaming Tree for turning me on to SkyWatch Friday.

Looks like something unwanted might pop down from those clouds at any second, but it sure makes for a good photo! Nice one, Holly.

Was sorta riding around under skies that looked kinda like this today. I knew any moment they could open up but mostly I missed the downpour while I was busily running around doing various errands. I love moody skies, something just so… expressive there. Perhaps its knowing there’s a huge release to come.
Gorgeous picture!
Heavy rain is on the way! Be prepared everyone. Beautiful capture, awesome..
Hmmm….pretty yet strangely melancholy…or maybe that’s just me…(the melancholy part)….

Oh, I really care about rainy skies and this is very cool! Funny how the shape of the cloud accents the ground shapes.

Whoo, I LOVE stormy skies! I am perverse, I actually enjoy cloud, rain etc… well, with some caveats; when it’s just bloody overcast like it often is in the UK… that’s just dull.
Fabulous picture!

I think someone told me before, if the clouds look like this it’s raining on that side.
Nice capture.

I love stormy skies, so dramatic! I always feel like I’m in the middle of a greek, norse or roman legend. I find them very fascinating. Beautiful picture!

Thanks much, Mark. We had just come from that dreary area but only had a few rain drops.

Hi Svasti. We travelled about 40 miles in the other direction, so I’m not sure if there was a big downpour or not. Like a lot of places, the weather is so unpredictable there.

Thanks, Syaa_Fiqq and thanks for stopping by.

Yep, me too, drjay, although I’d have to own “strange” too…

Hi and thanks, chrome3d. You know, I didn’t notice that…yeah, the clouds sort of “mirror” the ground, in their own way…

Hi Bird and thanks. Yeah, I feel as though I post more dark skies than bright ones…but I think the broodier skies bring out more emotion… And my point is???
*****
Hi and thanks Erin. I’m guessing this kind of landscape looks very familiar to you, although it is a few states over. You have a nice weekend, too!
*****
Hi Photo Cache. Yeah, I think I heard that too…and it’s quite possible that those are sheets of rain.
*****
Hi Erik and thanks for stopping by. So easy to join and hope that you do when you have a chance.

Hi and thanks, Yanic. Glad you liked it. I tend to like the stormier skies myself.

Amazing atmosphere. I can just feel the sky, by looking at that photograph. It’s beautiful, the wonders of capturing it on camera and film isn’t it. :)
