The buttercups have been harder to capture than Lucy at harness time, and I’ve taken so many buttercup photos, without success. I’m not especially happy with this one, but in my opinion, you-know-whose fuzzy presence saves the day. In her usual style, she waits patiently while I make one more attempt… Good girl!

Some flowers just scream SPRING!!! and buttercups are one of them to me. I am glad you posted this one. Do you ever hold them under the chin to see who like butter? We did s a kid it was fun. Thanks for sharing :)

I think it’s a great shot! I love how it’s all blurry in the background and so sharp and clear for the buttercup. Love buttercups!

Thanks Debo Hobo. Yes! We did do that. Hold the flower underneath your chin and a yellow reflection means you like butter, and of course, as it turns out, EVERYBODY likes butter!

Hi Svasti. Yeah, I just wished the buttercup would’ve been a little sharper. User error! :o(

Hi and thanks Vanilla. Glad you like it. Couldn’t have done it without Lucy’s cooperation!

The buttercup looks amazing, this is the kind of effect I always fail to achieve. :-( What kind of camera are you using?
John | English Wilderness´s last blog post..Valley in the Derbyshire Dales
Hi and thank you John. The camera is a six-year-old Canon PowerShot SD400 Digital Elph. For this shot I used the macro setting. I am so woefully lacking in camera knowledge and became aware of this setting only a few months ago!
