Usually after a few crazy runs and body slams at the dog park, Lucy takes a break by positioning herself at the far end of the park and taking a seat. She just sits and surveys all the goings ons, sometimes just waiting for a good target. Yesterday it was very windy so as she sat and observed, it was a bonus that she got a noseful of information from far and wide. Kinda like reading the evening news.
And yes, Lucy’s a Hendrix fan.

When its windy in the park, its all the benefits of being in the car (wind in her face with her head sticking out the window) and at the same time, ruling her kingdom. Oh, Lucy the magnificnet! If only she had a cape or a crown, or both!
Actually, I’m not a fan of dressing up dogs as such.
As usual though, I love your Lucy pics, they do a great job of showing off her wonderful sweet nature :)

Wow! Just imagine all the scents carried on that wind that we mere humans cannot detect. I’m loving Lucy more and more each time I see her. As I sit here typing I can hear the labored breathing of my little Jazzy who won’t be with us for much longer. She too is a sweet girl. Thanks for sharing your photos. Taken good care of you and your girl too. :)

Quite a regal pose there…gazing off into the sun, like a gunslinger before a sunset showdown…*LOL*

She looks so beautiful and thoughtful in this image. She has “the look” ! Svasti is right, she does just have such a lovely nature…she looks so gentle here :-)
P.S Love the yellow flower too, very fitting for spring, I am not sure I will take up egg balancing though ;)
Awwww, look at little Lucy. She’s so happy!

Our 20+ year run with dogs ended last August when our last dog, Jodie, died. Brings me so much happiness seeing such a beautiful animal allowed to live her life with such dignity and honor. Thanks to both you and Lucy!

OOh, I like that shot! On top of being a beautiful dog, she looks very heroic in that shot. Like she just got done pulling TImmy out of the well ;-)

Hi Svasti. Yeah, she does look like she could don a cape and crown here, though I’m also not a fan of dressing them up. I’m glad that you like her pics and I’ll have to give Lucy all of the credit. Although not always a willing participant her “sweet nature” as you called it, always shines through!

Hi TT. Thanks so much for the compliments and Lucy always enjoys your visits! I’m so sorry to hear that Jazzy is not well. It is so heartbreaking when a pet is ill. They are such innocent and loving beings and deserve much longer lives than they have. Our thoughts are with you and Jazzy…
__________
Heh-heh, I like that Lana! How about “The Good, The Bad and The Lucy”? :o)
__________
Hi Chrissy and thanks. Yes, I caught her as she was enjoying the approaching breeze…one of the few times that she’s still! Thank you on the flower (I cheated—it was taken last summer!) and don’t waste your time on the egg-balancing…like I told Mark, leave that useless stuff to me!
__________
Hi MMMargo. She should be happy! Holy cow, Lucy doesn’t have a care in the world…besides squirrels and rabbits, that is. :o)
__________
Hi Plot Whisperer and thanks for your kind words. I’m so sorry to hear about your Jodie. We lost Emma about four years ago and sometimes it feels like yesterday. I think it’s the worst thing about having pets…having to endure their loss. They should live as long as we do!
__________
Thanks Frigga and that’s funny that you wrote that. When I was writing the post, I thought of writing that Lucy looked like she should have a big ole “S” on her chest. Actually she had just finished expending some much pent-up energy!
__________
Hi PM. I’m assuming you’re referring to Lucy’s musical inclinations? Yes, we’re quite happy that she takes to classic rock and not the likes of bubblegum and boy bands. We’re just lucky, I guess! :o)
Lucy sounds a lot like my dog, who also loves to slam into other dogs as an invitation to frolick, and whose nose twitches eagerly when the wind blows.

What a beautiful pic…though Lucy being a Hendrix fan seems almost too obvious to mention….

Hi Janie. I remember Daisy and I bet she loves it on the open range! She and Lucy might get along pretty well!

Thanks drjay. Really? Was it that obvious? Just didn’t want anyone to mistake her for an Osmond fan. (I realize this makes no sense in relation to my title…aaargh)
__________
Thanks betchai. That is a nice thought and I bet that’s exactly what she’s doing!

Thanks Mrs4444 and thanks for coming by!
Awww.. Never thought I was missing a beautiful blog.
Looks like Lucy’s huge & big..
It reminds me of my BIG puppy.

Hi and thanks, Doson. Lucy is a few pounds overweight…52 lbs. actually. And 25 months so I guess she’s just passed that puppy stage!
I love this one!

I know this is an older post, but i just had to come back, find it, and comment that this is one of my favorite pictures of Lucy. Her hair is so gorgeous and I love her expressions. Lucy, I want you!

Hi Kathy and thanks much…Lucy thanks you too. And that’s okay…better late than never. Which reminds me, back when I was a “lurker” (remember your post?) I read your piece on picking up doggie poop and I always meant to go back and comment on that one, but never did, so here I go…
(Weird, huh, that we each had a doggie post in the back of our minds, about each other’s blog? Okay, I’m creeped out now…)
Twitter: junkdrawer
Holly — Ah, yes! The lurker post. That brought out a lot of people, didn’t it? The fact that we’re thinking of older posts on each other’s blogs means, well…. that we have good blogs! I love it here!

Hi again, Kathy.
I’m glad you like it here and you’re always welcome!
I love your blog, too, as I love good funny stuff and I think your blog is one of the best humor blogs…that birthday party for Windy was great and got me hooked.
By the way, how is she doing? Hangin’ in there? :o)
wow nice photo
i don’t know any Hendrix songs but your title is probably pretty witty
Thanks, Raymond. And I understand…afterall, his stuff is at least 40 years old! But here’s a nice video of a live version (though you may’ve already Youtubed him).
