I probably wouldn’t have captured this very well except for the heavy dew that clung to the web’s spinnerets. It was so delicate, a real work of art. I’ll only allude to what happened when my coat sleeve accidentally snagged a supporting branch. I really shouldn’t be allowed out and about in nature… :o(

You have captured this web nicely. No need to worry, the spider will rebuild its web.

Thanks MaineBirder… Yeah, I wonder how many times a day he has to rebuild due to clumsy trespassers…
Oh I keep waiting for the opportunity to get a shot like this. We’ve been warm so I am wondering where our spiders are. Also we have had many storms this last month with a lot of high winds and rain.
We are having one right now. I am surprised I have a connection. We just lost our power a second ago.
You got a fantastic shot in here Holly…it’s truly awesome!!

This is not easy to capture
The backlighting does provide a high contrast environment for the web to manifest itself.

Don’t feel badly. Webs get respun on a regular basis, anyway. ;) This is a stunning photo! Congrats on the lovely capture!

Great capture. It’s fun to stare into a well-made spiderweb.

Thanks, Shinade. If it weren’t for the dew, I probably wouldn’t have caught this. I didn’t see any spiders in all of the webs that I found. They must’ve been out foraging!
I hope that your weather improves soon. We’ve had some rain, but that’s about it. We’ve been very lucky!

Hi roentarre,
Yes, I also got a shot with the sun behind me and the web was more clear, but a branch was in the way. A hazy effect on this one, but no branch!

Thanks, Lana,
Yeah, it’s just that I was trying to be so careful around it and then when I was leaving…snag! :o(

Thanks Starving Artist and thanks for stopping by!

Thanks David,
I think if I had gotten down on the ground I could’ve done better, but it was surrounded by briars…ouch! Still not enough to keep me from ruining it, though… :o(
Hey, Holly! Wow, what a fabulous photo. The detail is incredible, I love the little drops of dew clinging to the web. This is definitely a framable.

Hi Holly, fantastic picture. I’ve tried and failed several times to get a decent picture of spider webs.

Thanks so much MMMargo,
There were so many webs on the bushes on this morning, although they weren’t as “organized” as this one. I do wish it were a bit more clear, though.

Hi John,
Thanks for the compliment. Yes, I’ve seen photos of webs that are just amazing! I’ve tried before and they didn’t show at all. I like to blame it on the camera but know that it’s actually user error! :o(
