Goofin’ Off…Again

earthtoholly

Okay, so I was planning on getting all kinds of stuff done yesterday when I came across Mark Rayner’s blog, The Skwib (a funny place, in a good way!), and noticed his post on making your own superhero. Hmmm…do I smell a distraction? Sure do. So, on to The Hero Factory I went and created my very own superhero! Here she is, and maybe a little ‘splainin’ is in order…

That’s really my hair—a usually short do that hasn’t seen a trim FOR MONTHS. And I love cycling (although the basement has held my bike hostage for a few years now…negotiations are underway), hence the racing garb in beautiful Bianchi celeste [*shiver*]. And the stick? While I could’ve had a sword or a gun or nun-chucks even, Lucy likes a nice stick on her walks to tug on. And it doubles nicely for smacking other cyclists who don’t yell “ON YOUR LEFT!” when passing. And the bod? It came from the family gene pool—just not my family.

So, named The Fantastic Splintery Splinter (where did I go wrong—was it the stick?), I’ll change it to Sprintery Sprinter, once the bike and I get back on the road…

Now, go goof off…

  • How fun! You have your very own super-cool super hero. That was worth the goofing off time.

  • ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of the funniest posts I’ve ever read. You are a serious riot. I now realize that you’ve been holding out on us. I don’t know what I’m going to do now. I will never think of you in quite the same way. LOLOLOL!!! I mean, seriously, if you think about it your header reads: (and I quote you)

    “earth to holly
nature, photography, dogs, good karma and my two cents”

And now are we to see?: “earth to holly
nature, photography, dogs, good karma, SPLINTERY SPLINTER and my two cents”

I think you’ve got us ALL pysched now. You’ve set a certain standard here with Sexy Splintery Splinter and anything less and you may fall off your splintery pedestal. I mean, I’ve already forgotten about…hmm, what was that dogs name? LOLOLOL!!!!!

Aaaah you ended my day in a fit of uncontrollable laughter. I love it.
    Thank you and hugs,
    Robin.

  • Hi Holly,

You KNOW I have to find out my alter-ego! Expect a post soon.

In the meantime, my bike is also being held ransom. The evil bike-bandits in Manchester have promised to release it in April – so I can get fit again (mmm – maybe I should let them keep it).

Splintery Splinter has a nice ring to it – I think you should keep the name.

Go beat those bad guys …

    :-)

    Cheers

  • Hi Janie. I have read your bio and you seem like a superhero in your own respect! Very active and get to play with dogs and horses all day—sounds wonderful!

Thanks roentarre…you should try it! (if you’ve time for a distraction, that is!)

Oh Robin! Yes, it seems as though the real earthtoholly is emerging…I don’t know whether that’s a good thing or not, but it is what it is! I find that the more I blog, the more comfortable I am with my visitors and blogger friends and the more my self comes out. Yikes!

Like Janie of Utah up there (if you don’t know her already, I think you’d love her blog), you are another who is already a superhero, but I would be interested to see what you come up with—and the name you are given! Hmmm, Splintery Splinter…sounds painful! :o)

PM, I would’ve guessed that this is right up your alley! And I look forward to it!

I don’t know what it is this year with the bike bandits. I mean, how do we have any hope of getting in shape without our wheels? Why don’t they kidnap running shoes or dumbells or something and leave our bikes alone? I, too, have a good mind to let ‘em keep it! ;o)

Hi Trisna. No, I didn’t draw it. All you do is choose attributes through the program so you pretty much choose how you want it to come out. The name is a mystery though, until you finish.

  • This was a funny post – create your own super hero – I love it and loved the cartoon too. :D

  • Hi TT,

I have a feeling that like Janie and Robin, you, too, are a superhero in your own right. You are very creative—always creatin’ and doin’! Still, might be fun to see your cartoon side! :o)

  • [...] about the internet a few weeks ago, I landed at The Hero Factory where I created my very own super hero. Dazzled (slight exaggeration, I’m sure) by my cycling babe’s gear, as well as my [...]
