Decaying trees in the park are full of cool fungi and lichen. This one reminded me of a huge flower corsage.

So this mushroom’s hitting on a woman in a bar and she tells him to leave her alone, and he says “come on, I’m a fun-guy”…doesn’t really work so well in writing….
One time, though, I was way up somewhere in the rocky mountains and got really freaked out looking at these lichens on a rock….then, everything was a bit intense just then, so, in fact, I’d started looking at the rock in the first place because it seemed like the least freaky thing around…it was *ahem* an interesting day….
Looks like it’s knitted and laced together, wow looks beautiful!
Very lovely. (FYI, sometimes I still have problems, sometimes, getting to your blog for some reason. Have you changed anything in the last couple of weeks?)

I’ve heard worse, drjay—I actually “liched” it. Okay, that was really bad. :o) As far as your hiking experience (you were hiking, right?), what was that John Denver song? Rocky Mountain something…

Thanks, Sadia. Yeah, it does look a little like needlework. Nice observation! :o)

Thanks, Lana, and yeah, server problems are driving me nuts. Supposed to be resolved today but we’ll see…aaargh…
wow, that looks really pretty. i don’t know if that is edible, since i think when i was younger, we used to collect fungi that grows in our decaying trees, i loved them :)
Great photo – thanks for sharing – we have lots of interesting mushrooms and fungi here in the Mountains of Montana,
however I have never seen one like that one. Wishing you the best.

Hi betchai,
Thanks. Yeah, there are so many in the woods around here, but am not sure which ones are edible…and I’d want to be sure first! :o)

Hi Marlene and thanks.
Oh, I would love to see Montana…ever since I saw “A River Runs Through It.” I believe that was set in Montana.
I’m not sure what this is, but I really liked its flower-like appearance. :o)
