This was taken at the Washington Marina in Washington, DC, last fall. I remember it was a beautiful blustery day and it was our wedding anniversary!
Don’t care for blustery skies? Then check out SkyWatch Friday or click on the SkyWatch banner. They’ve got all kinds of skies and you’re sure to find one you like. Why not join and share yours!
Thanks to Lana over at The Dreaming Tree for turning me on to SkyWatch Friday.

Great skywatch shot, the plane taking off in the background is a nice added touch.
Have a great weekend!

Love that sky watch and how you were able to get the sky, plane and all of the boats in the photo.

With skies like that, I am sure your anniversary was wonderful. Oh I like marina shots and the inclusion of a plane is a bonus too.
Hmmm…wonder if that’s the same marina a friend and I biked to from her parents’ place in…hmmm…somewhere near Frederick, Maryland.,.on a trail that I think goes all the way to Harper’s Ferry but I can’t remember the name of it…but I think they lived in northen Virginia…had Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura pumped through their whole house through the intercom system…anyway, they had a nice boat, and took us in it to a very nice restaurant in Georgetown…okay, I’m just self-indulgently free associating instead of actually commenting on your post…but I’ll try to do better next time….

Hi drjay,
Hmmm, not familiar with bike paths up that way. As far as marinas, there are others close to the one in my pic. If you got on the boat at the Columbia Island Marina, then I think you would’ve seen the Pentagon next to it and would’ve passed underneath the GW Parkway as you exited the marina to the Potomac. I’m guessing that the boat you were on just pulled up and docked (no marina there) at the place you had dinner? And you could see the Kennedy Center? That’s really nice there…next to K St. at the foot of Georgetown if it’s the same place I’m thinking of.
Wow, a boat and a house with an intercom—sounds nice! But Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura? Yep, you were in Virginia alright… :o(
Don’t worry about “free associating”…I thought your comment was more interesting than the pic and btw, I do my fair share of free associating over at your place…

Hi Olga…this was the first time I’d been to the waterfront in years. It really hasn’t changed that much. Nice to know you’re from this area…thanks for coming by!
Thanks, Rune, and thanks for stopping by!
Thanks, Tricia. Yeah, I love the huge clouds.
Thanks, Janie. Yes, it was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed it. Perfect for picture-taking!
Hi Sadia. Thanks, yes the sky was unusually beautiful that day.
Thanks, Erin. I think spring will be here before we know it…you have a great weekend too!

Hi Holly,
I love blustery days.
Winter in Manchester is pretty dull skywise because the city and surrounding area are normally covered by a layer of grey featureless clouds. I’m counting down the days to Spring and Summer when I can get out there with my camera and show the world what Manchester skies can look like.
Once again, a great photo.
Cheers

Thanks PM,
I love these huge fluffly clouds but they seem to come along only once in awhile…and then sometimes I forget the camera! I know what you mean about grey skies. They can be very uninteresting.
Looking forward to your warmer-weather photos! :o)
