  • What a wonderful video and a great tribute. May we never forget Dr. King and all he stood for and gave us.

  • Hi Preston, thanks for stopping by. Yeah, I just love this song and the person who made the video did a great job.

  • I find it particularly fitting that Aretha sang at both Martin Luther King’s funeral and Obama’s inauguration today….I was there, a long, long, long way away from the action, though I could see the capitol, and hear what was said and sung through somebody’s radio nearby…but how could I have stayed home? This day, and that day in early November, represent a huge step toward curing our nation, and the world, of the horrible disease of racism.

  • Hi drjay. I agree about curing the disease of racism. I have hope that through Obama’s presidency, today’s young will grow up in a different social atmosphere than did a lot of us. I hope the tide has turned. Whereas a lot of my generation probably thought they’d never see a non-white as president, future generations will think nothing of it—it will be a non-issue—finally.

So, were you really here in DC? That is great. I could kick myself as I labored all morning as to whether or not to attempt the trip (a measly ten miles, mind you). I finally decided against it and watched every moment on tv. But it wasn’t the same and I regret that I didn’t go. Zimbabwe citizens made it, for chrissake! I was definitely there in spirit, but still…
