Okay, I know the song goes “lemon tree, very pretty…” but this isn’t about lemon trees, it’s about lemonade, rather the “Lemonade Award.”
I will start by giving my heartfelt thanks to MadMadMargo over at The Screaming Me-Me!!! for nominating me, along with nine others for the Lemonade Award. I’m flattered that an accomplished blogger such as she has acknowledged the jumble of thoughts and photos that is earthtoholly. Without the inspiration of bloggers like her, my blog would not have come as far as it has…it still has a verrry looong way to go, but the friendship and support of the blogging community make the journey much more fun!
I’ve made many blogger “friends” and would love to pass this award on to each and every one of them, but the rules limit my choice to ten, so I nominate the following blogs for acceptance of the Lemonade Award. Ahem, thanks so much for the award, roadgurl/Holly–I’ll definitely give ya a shout out or two (even if I ignore the other rules)(are you on my blogroll? If not, I’ll add ya)–I’m enjoying listening to your tunes, at the moment–the Byrds doing “Wild Mountain Thyme” (y’know Bob Dylan did a beautiful version of that with the Band at the Isle of Wight in the late 60′s, and that’s another one I used to have on a bootleg tape…)–now Eva Cassidy singing Paul Simon’s “American Tune”–Willie Nelson did a great version of that, and I listened to it over and over after one of the times W. got elected, especially the “when I think of the road we’re traveling on, I wonder what’s gone wrong.” This past election, actually, I listened to another Paul Simon tune over and over, thinking about how we’ve “all gone to look for America” when we thought it was lost….hmmm, now this Kyrie Elieson (sp?)/Mardi Gras, is that from the whorehouse/tripping in the graveyard and foreseeing their deaths scene from Easy Rider? [hearing dialogue] okay, yeah, it definitely is–”hey, boy, whyntcha get yerslef a haihcut?”
I really need to put up another blog post one o’ these days….

Holly – thanks very much! Bizarrely somebody else offered me the Lemonade award and a Smile award too. I am highly honoured to be awarded this by somebody like yourself.
Fantastic. Now all I have to do is pick ten blogs for myself – not an easy task, especially as you have nominated one of the ones I would choose myself (“Naked In Eden”).
I shall of course write a post thanking all but I shall not post the logo until I have narrowed down ten blogs.

Yes, Robin was also nominated but I just couldn’t exclude her so I awarded her anyway and gave her a ‘heads up’ that she would probably receive more! She is quite popular and rightly so.
